An Abiding Conviction: Maritime Baptists and Their World
edited by Robert S. Wilson
During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Maritime Baptists came to grips with the
implications of their religious distinctives and revivalist heritage while at the same time remaining
active participants in the world. The common theme which runs throughout the articles in this
book is "the abiding conviction" of Baptists in their Christian world view and in their calling as
Christians to defend it and, if possible to reshape their world in that mould. As the twentieth
century drew nearer, the possibility of that being accomplished began to diminish but the
conviction of the rightness of their vision did not wane. Their strongly help convictions became
particularly important in times of rapid change and shifting moral values. Softcover - 249 pages
